Hello and welcome. My name is Gillian Baldock and I am an artist living and working in Mittagong in the Southern Highlands of NSW. A lifelong appreciation of the natural world and a passion for creating drives my art practice. The focus of my work is animals – their intrinsic beauty, but also their place and dependence on the environment, and is based on research and observation. I enjoy working in a variety of media – each one offering its own unique challenges and rewards. I have contributed to many group exhibitions, have had two solo exhibitions in the Moss Vale Foyer Gallery and my work has found its way into collections in many parts of the world. I have also been privileged to immortalise many much loved family pets.
I will be opening my Drawnbygill studio/gallery over the June long weekend, 11th,12th and 13th June.
5 Beresford St Balaclava 2575. Many other studios in the SouthernHighlands are also opening to visitors over the weekend, so plenty of opportunities to meet artists and see their work.
I will also have work in the Southern Highland Printmakers exhibition
“An Australian Alphabet” at BAS Gallery in Moruya from 26th August.
